Comparive analysis of different components of the planktonic community (phytoplankton, protozoo- and zooplankton) was performed in the pelagic and littoral zones of overgrown Lake Beloe (Volzhsko-Kamskiy Biosphere Natural State Reserve, Republic of Tatarstan, Russain Federation). We detected a  remarkable diverse of both pelagic and sublittoral plankton. The planktonic community in the macrophyte zone differs  from the community of pelagic zone in a species composition and in a larger species diversity.
