COMPUTER SIMULATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF CASTING PROCESS PLATINUM INGOTS

Abstract


The computer model of casting of platinum in a water cooled mold with movable bottom is developed on the basis of ANSYS and ProCAST software packages. The influence of regime parameters of work of the foundry installation on the crystallization of ingots is studied. The quantitative dependence that allow reducing the amount of  shrink hole and eliminating surface and internal defects in the finished bars of platinum were installed.
