Abstract
The article examines the nature of heterogeneous semiotic systems - creolized texts - and their main characteristics. Under analysis is the connection of two semiotic layers in creolized texts – verbal and non-verbal ones. The role and interaction of these elements is the text structure is investigated on specific examples – corporate Internet sites of banking organizations. The paper focuses on investigating the correlation of verbal meanings with visually expressed ones and as a result of the study offers a classification of the main meanings transmitted by non-verbal elements in the examined sites. The paper aims to extend the knowledge about the pragmatics of creolized texts in business discourse.
