Abstract


The era of the transitional period (the second half of XVII - beginning of XVIII century) shows many examples of how scrapping the traditions, varying the genre system of the Russian literature formed a new artistic paradigm that defines a new understanding the tasks of the author. In this process, a special attention is given to the new narrative style, which becomes a significant phenomenon in its era, the story-parable. The story-parable actively shows itself in Russian narrative tradition at the turn of XVII-XVIII centuries, and also allows us to speak about a new perception of the text by the reader, able to consider fiction. The article presents an analysis of the Russian fictional story, in its genre features defined as the story-parable. In the analysis of the story, the role of parable tradition manifests itself in the construction of the plot, creating the images of characters. The relevance of the article is determined by scientific area existing in the national literary science and engaged in the research of a narrative tradition in the Russian literature of the transitional period.
