The article proves the thesis about literocentrism of critical thinking of a modern professional reader. It is contrary to the traditional perception of literary situation of the end of XX - beginning of XXI centuries as a period of crisis of literocentrism. The material in this article is the literary criticism of liberal and patriotic magazines, postmodern critics, new critics of the 2000s. Signs of literocentrism  show in each of them: finding out actual answers, truths in a fiction text and the translation to the reader as patterns of behavior /thinking, the authority of the classic and others. At the turn of XX-XXI centuries elite writer has turned into an intellectual who stopped  to teach and prophesy. Literature, especially poetry, aware of the incompleteness of understanding. Literary criticism notes it but not changes nor instrumental nor gnoseological.
