This article analyzes the concept of «indigenous peoples» and indigenous concept, which was formed in cultural studies. It's implying a special approach to the study of ethnic cultures in their self-sufficiency. The expert interview is one of the effective methods of meeting the requirements of this approach. This article discusses the possibility of applying this method in studies of indigenous peoples of the North to the material produced by scientists , masters and students of the Siberian Federal University during an expedition to the north of the Krasnoyarsk region.
