On Frames as Isomorphic Structures in Literary Translation (the Example of Qian Zhongshu Translated from Chinese into Russian)

Yaroslav V. Sokolovsky

Abstract

The relation between the original and its translations can be described by a variety of notions: equivalence, adequacy, invariant, etc.  Isomorphism is one of such descriptors, though it is not a fully-fledged term in translation studies yet. Here we attempt to prove its applicability to the cognitive theory of translation through the frame analysis of concepts.
