Nikita A. Valyanov

Abstract

The modern literary scholars consider the small prose of Siberian writer M. A. Tarkovsky in the context of the late traditionalism. The motive of chaos and loss of national / traditional is actual for the ‘postderevenskoy’ literature;  it becomes the leading in the prose of this writer and literary texts of R. V. Senchin, A. N. Varlamov, O. O. Pavlov and etc. The writer tries to meet crisis of national identity and move on to the issue rethinking and preserving native values. The hero, an intellectual must return to the folk basis and reconnect with the natural world also to feel the real existence. M. A. Tarkovsky constructs other way of survival: the writer creates an ideology of asceticism and approves its own cultural and geographical marginality (A. I. Razuvalova). In his literary works the writer transforms the understanding of tradition as an important category of human existence.
