The introduction to the thematic issue dedicated to the Russian historical science reveals the principle of forming research, the results of which are presented here. The article considers the topical issues of modern historical knowledge, reveals the essence of the presented materials, their significance for modern science. The main trends in the development of historical, historical and cultural, historical and historical knowledge are determined in the context of the world line of modern humanities. All studies were based on certain conceptual and methodological approaches, a number of articles were prepared on the basis of the Siberian Historical Forum held in October 2019. Attention is drawn to the regional Siberian problems of a number of articles, as well as articles related to the history of the humanities, the history of humanitarian education in higher educational institutions of the Siberian Federal District. Particular attention is paid to ethnic and migration issues, the cases related to these studies are considered. The geographical representation of the authors is wide: from Moscow to Ulan-Ude. A fairly large section is devoted to the history of various ethnocultural groups belonging to the indigenous peoples of Siberia. Historical science is of particular importance in the context of problems of historical and cultural memory. This thematic issue of the journal of the Siberian Federal University "Humanities" aims to form this historical memory on an objective scientific basis.
